Dr. Kathrin Anne Meier

After more than 20 years as an executive in the financial services industry, holding roles as chief risk officer, executive and non-executive board member, I am now sharing the knowledge, experience and expertise gained throughout my career focused on leadership, employee development and coaching.

I hold a master’s degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Computer Science, as well as a higher education teaching diploma, all from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland. I also hold an MBA in Financial Services from University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Most recently, I earned the INSEAD Coaching Certificate for executive coaching.

During my career, I have taken several continuing education courses, including communication for executives at McAlinden Associates and several leadership courses at Leadership Forum.

Currently, I am a part-time board member of the Swiss Risk Association, part of the Executive Committee and responsible for the Non-Financial Risk chapter. I recently authored a book on how to master and succeed in corporate life with ease.

Being genuinely interested in people, I very well know and understand the worries and needs as well as the happiness, fun, and joy of working in a corporation.

Why I do what I do.

The mission of “Corporate Life Mastery” is to raise consciousness in the business world, whether through conscious communication, conscious leadership, or conscious learning. By becoming more conscious, that is, aware of their inner selves, people better understand how to maneuver in the complex corporate world of today and in the future.

During my time as a corporate leader, people often approached me to discuss their professional situation and eventually to become their mentor or sponsor. The topics revolved around missed career steps, promotions, ideas for the next career move, and the like. When trying to help, I studied each case on its own and gained deep insight into the various problems. Often, I found, people were not clear enough about what they really wanted, or they were not clear about their own strengths, so they did not appreciate their own value enough. When coaching them for a short while, people tended to be much more satisfied with their work, and I could observe that it did not take much for them to find their own way forward and feel more satisfied and happier than before. In all cases, it had to do with them realizing something about their inner selves.

Also, with my own team, I have found that if you take good care of your team, your team members will flourish. I have seen so many people grow, sometimes beyond what they thought was possible for themselves. This is why I decided to share the deep insights I have gained throughout my long and successful career.

In general, I love to teach people subjects that make a positive difference in their lives and advance them toward being their best selves. Often these subjects are core skills such as thinking skills, leadership skills, and other people skills.

Being passionate about helping others grow and having gained all these experiences and insights, it was a conscious decision to start my own training business offering courses including group and one-to-one coaching on various topics.
